The event received enthusiastic response from runners and supporters with 65,409km completed by participants which is comparable to running 1,000 times around the Hong Kong Island or 1.5 times around the globe. Remarkably the top three runners attributed over 1,000km during the event.

The net proceeds of “Discover, for every child” virtual run will be used to support various projects under the UNICEF’s global initiative, “Reimagine Education”. This initiative responds to current global learning crisis under COVID-19 by providing educational resources to needy children. UNICEF HK would like to take this opportunity to thank all donors, supporters and participants that made this successful event possible. For every step that they took, it brings hope and changes the lives of children in emergency situations.

We would also like to extend appreciation to the kindness of our principal sponsor – The Joseph Lau Luen Hung Charitable Trust for their generous support in donating HKD$10 to the “Reimagine Education” initiative for every 1km completed, empowering even more each step our participants made. In view of the significant and enthusiastic support from participants, The Joseph Lau Luen Hung Charitable Trust has generously increased its sponsorship to HKD$2 million in supporting UNICEF’s “Reimagine Education” initiative.

UNICEF HK is grateful for Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group Limited, SF Express International, Cathay Pacific Airways Limited, MoodyTiger, Windsor House, Sino Group, Lexngo (Lexington Limited), Acti-Tape (Nutriworks Limited), Targus (Targus Asia Pacific Limited) and Vetch (VTech Electronics (Hong Kong) Limited) for their unwavering support in making this event a huge success.
