UNICEF HK unveils “The Illumination of Love and Philanthropy” a charity art exhibition, inspiring unconditional love for every child

Hong Kong, 19 October 2018 - Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF (UNICEF HK) proudly presents The Illumination of Love and Philanthropy, a charity art exhibition that will inspire the public on the value of unconditional love for our next generation, our children. This is a celeation on the contributions of philanthropists and celeities, a showcase of their lifetimes’ work and quotes, illustrating the influences they have on the world by their actions of love. The exhibition renders portraits of extraordinary individuals – artists, celeities, statesmen and a missionary – as interpreted by two contemporary Chinese artists with distinctive styles of painting.
With benevolence and compassion, these individuals sought to influence others to do good, to be selfless, and to create a better world. This echoes with UNICEF’s vision to strive for a better future for every child. UNICEF HK invites the public to view this exhibition and celeate 13 distinguished luminaries, Audrey Hepburn, Mother Teresa, Lee Kuan Yew and Bruce Lee to name a few. It will be a memorable experience to see the impact they have created and achieved for the world’s children.
To resonate with the theme of this exhibition, the public can choose to participate in the “Pay It Forward” campaign on-site and receive an electronic postcard of their liking in the form of the art pieces portrayed. With each postcard received, our Creative Partner, Art Futures Group will donate five (5) Hong Kong Dollars to UNICEF HK.

About the artists
Zou Cao (b. 1975)
Well known for his fingerprinted art, Chinese artist Zou Cao superimposes his fingerprint over images of famous faces and iconic beauties. Black-and-white portraits of legendary figures peek out from under an enlarged, ightly coloured fingerprint. By adding his own fingerprint onto his artworks, Cao asserts his unique identity and stresses the importance of every individual.
Ren Zhen Yu (b.1976)
Ren Zhen Yu has adopted a distinctive style of painting with scraper and palette knives, while completely abandoning paintushes. Complemented with viant color collage in composing portraits, landscapes or abstract designs, his creations are wondrously eye-catching, while imming with endless vivacity and conviction.
